IPTA Fundamental Research Grant (FRGS)
I have been granted a research grant from Ministry of Higher Education with the amount of RM109800 to conduct a research project entitled "The Migration of Heavy Metals Through Compacted Clay Liner using Small Scale Geotechnical Centrifuge". The project will begin on April 4th 2012 and will be completed on April 3rd 2014 (24 months) -- Dr Wan Zuhairi Yaacob.

Hello Dr Yaacob,
I saw your post regarding the study of the migration of heavy metals through Compacted Clay liner. I am curious as to the differences between a flexible wall permeamter and a geotechnical centrifuge. Are there particular advantages to the centrifuge over a traditional perm cell?

Hello Dr Donovan, yes..there is a difference, especially when you consider time as your main problem to generate more data with less time involved. However, physical study at higher g force must be calibrated using 1g physical data and/or field results. thanks for your comment, really appreciate that.
