EIA consultant for proposed sanitary landfill at Bukit Payong, Johor

The proposed project site is located at Bukit Payong in Johor. The geology is simple, comprises of sandstone, siltstone, mudstone and conglomerate from Bukit Payong rock formation.   Most of the rock in this area is already weathered produces thick layer of clay-rich residual soil that acts as natural clay liner with low permeability (less than 1 x10-9 m/sec).  Geologically speaking, the site is located on a suitable location.  The syncline (gently folded rock) provides a good containment system for groundwater and will prevent the migration of leachate into surrounding area.

The project was already completed in December 2012 and I was one of the consultants appointed by UNI-Technologies Sdn. Bhd. to look at the hydrogeology of the site.
