Attending MODFLOW FLEX Workshop at Delft, Netherland.

Visual MODFLOW FLEX groundwater modeling software is the industry standard for simulating groundwater flow and contaminant transport.  I have been using the old Visual MODFLOW PRO software since 2004.   The new Visual MODFLOW FLEX was first introduced in December 2016 by Waterloo Hydrogeologic.  This new software has a different interface and so much different to the old version of Visual Modlfow Pro.   Hence, I have decided to learn this software by attending a 3-day workshop hosted and organised by Waterloo Hydrogeologic and VanEssen Instruments in Delft, Holland from September 25-27th, 2019.

A visit to Centrifuge facility at TU Delft

I visited a centrifuge facility at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) on September 24th, 2019.  The visit was hosted by Dr. Amin Askarinejad, an Assistant Professor from TU Delft.  I was given explanation by the Dr Askarinejad on how the centrifuge was firstly built and then also given a short tour of the centrifuge facility.  It was a memorable and informative visit as we at UKM also planning to build similar centrifuge in the future.  There is also a potential research collaboration with TU Delft especially in helping and consulting UKM to build our own centrifuge facility.
