Postgraduate presentation

Postgraduate presentation is a must for my research students where they have an
opportunity to talk and share their results with other students. This is another way of
monitoring the progress of the students. The meeting is scheduled regularly at least once a month. Seen in the picture, Mr Fares AsShaebi, my
PhD student is presenting his results in GERG laboratory.

Permeable Reactive Barrier using ZVI

A new research on Zero Valent Iron (ZVI) was recently conducted by my PhD student Mr. Fares As Shaebi. ZVI was self-made in the laboratory using certain chemical processes. This ZVI was compared with the ZVI collected from US and Japan. They seemed to be almost similar. Sorption test indicated that this ZVI can be used to sorb arsenic contaminat in arsenic contaminated site. Figure shows the use of mini tank to simulate the usefulness of ZVI as permeable reactive barrier material to remove arsenic in groundwater (red solution in the tank).
